01Skin boostersHydration & skin quality
What is it?
Small injections of a skin-quality product, often containing hyaluronic acid, which binds water. The aim is to improve hydration and the appearance of skin texture rather than create the volume associated with a contouring filler.
What might it help with?
Dry-looking skin, fine lines and a less smooth skin surface. Benefits depend on the exact product and your skin; a course may be suggested after assessment.
Recovery & considerations
Small raised injection marks, tenderness, swelling or bruising can occur. Ask which product is proposed, how long marks may last and what its specific risks are. Infection, allergy and vascular complications are possible with injectables.

Ask about Skin boosters ↗02Lip fillerShape, definition & volume
What is it?
An injectable gel, commonly made with hyaluronic acid, used to add volume or adjust lip shape and definition. The amount and placement should suit your anatomy and the change you want.
What can I expect?
An initial change is visible, but swelling can exaggerate the early result. Fillers are temporary; how long they last depends on the product and the individual.
Recovery & considerations
Tenderness, swelling and bruising are common early effects. Lumps, infection and allergic reactions can occur. Rarely, a blocked blood vessel can damage skin or affect vision. Tell the practitioner about previous filler and cold sores; discuss the emergency and aftercare arrangements before treatment.

What is it?
A device makes tiny controlled punctures in the skin, prompting the healing response and collagen production. It may be considered for uneven texture, some acne scars, fine lines and stretch marks.
What can I expect?
Improvement develops over weeks to months. More than one session may be needed; the area and skin concern determine the plan.
Recovery & considerations
Skin can look red or darker than usual and feel warm, tight or sensitive for a few days, sometimes up to a week. Infection, pigment changes and scarring are possible. Active skin infections and poor healing need assessment. Follow the individual skincare, makeup and sun-protection advice you are given.

What is it?
Dissolvable threads are placed beneath the skin. Smooth threads are used with the aim of supporting skin quality; barbed or cog threads can provide a modest lifting effect. These are different treatments, so ask which type is proposed.
What can I expect?
The aim is a subtle, temporary change. The thread type, tissue and treatment area affect the result; threads do not reproduce a surgical facelift.
Recovery & considerations
Swelling, bruising, tenderness or a pulling sensation can occur. Healing may take several weeks. Risks include dimpling, visible or protruding threads, infection, asymmetry and persistent pain. Follow the practitioner’s instructions about exercise, facial movement and pressure on the area.

Ask about PDO threads ↗05PRP & PRFTreatments using your own blood
What are they?
A small blood sample is taken and processed to separate selected components. PRP means platelet-rich plasma; PRF means platelet-rich fibrin. They are prepared differently and are not interchangeable.
What might they help with?
They are explored for skin texture and fine lines; PRP is also used in selected hair-loss treatment plans after diagnosis. Studies show some promising results, but evidence and preparation methods vary. A specific outcome or duration cannot be promised.
Recovery & considerations
Expect a blood draw and treatment of the chosen area, with possible bruising, tenderness and swelling. Using your own blood does not remove infection or injection risks. Blood conditions, medicines and your medical history must be reviewed first.

What is it?
Here, biofiller refers to a gel prepared from your own blood plasma and used as an injectable material. It is different from a manufactured hyaluronic-acid filler.
What can I expect?
It is proposed for selected lines or areas of volume loss. Early, small studies report improvements, but strong evidence on lasting results and long-term safety is limited. Ask about the preparation, expected duration and alternatives.
Recovery & considerations
A blood draw is required. Bruising, swelling, tenderness, unevenness and infection can occur. Being made from your own blood does not make an injectable risk-free. Discuss how complications would be managed; plasma gel cannot be treated as a hyaluronic-acid filler that can simply be dissolved.

Ask about Biofiller ↗07Fat dissolvingLocalised fat-treatment enquiries
What is it?
Some injectable formulations are intended to break down small, localised fat deposits. Products sold under this description differ considerably in ingredients, evidence and permitted use.
What can I expect?
It is not a weight-loss treatment. Whether a particular area can be treated, the likely change and the number of sessions depend on the exact product and an individual assessment. Ask for the product name and evidence for the proposed area.
Recovery & considerations
Swelling, pain, bruising and firm areas can follow treatment. Serious complications can include infection, scarring and damage to skin or surrounding tissue. Recovery and aftercare are product-specific. Do not assume that all products advertised as fat-dissolving have the same safety or effectiveness.

Ask about Fat dissolving ↗08HydrofacialCleansing, exfoliation & hydration
What is it?
A water-based facial that typically combines cleansing, exfoliation and suction with the application of skincare serums. The steps and products depend on the machine and the facial selected.
What might it help with?
A smoother-feeling skin surface and a refreshed appearance. It may help remove surface debris and congestion. Results are usually cosmetic and temporary; it is not a replacement for medical treatment of acne or other skin conditions.
Recovery & considerations
Usually less downtime than an injectable or needling treatment, although temporary redness, sensitivity or irritation can occur. Tell the practitioner about allergies, sensitive skin, active inflammation and recent peels or other treatments so the products and intensity can be assessed.

Ask about Hydrofacial ↗09IV dripsFluids & nutrients by infusion
What is it?
An infusion delivers fluid and selected ingredients directly into a vein through a cannula. The contents and reason for treatment should be clearly explained before you decide.
What can I expect?
IV treatment has established medical uses for specific needs. Evidence does not establish routine vitamin drips as a reliable way to boost energy, immunity or “detox” otherwise healthy people. Persistent tiredness or dehydration symptoms should be medically assessed.
Recovery & considerations
A bruise or soreness may occur at the cannula site. Risks include infection, vein irritation, allergic reactions and problems from excess fluid or ingredients. Medical history, medicines and kidney or heart conditions require review. Ask who assesses suitability, supervises the infusion and handles emergencies.

Ask about IV drips ↗10PolynucleotidesSkin-quality treatment enquiries
What are they?
Injectable products containing purified DNA fragments, used with the aim of improving skin quality. The formulation and intended treatment areas vary between products.
What might they help with?
Small studies suggest possible improvements in hydration, elasticity and fine lines. Evidence is still developing, and results from one product or treatment area do not guarantee the same effects elsewhere. These are not a substitute for a volumising filler.
Recovery & considerations
Temporary raised injection marks, swelling, tenderness and bruising may occur. Allergy, infection and other injection complications are possible. Ask about the product’s source and ingredients, especially if you have allergies, and discuss the expected course and recovery before booking.

Ask about Polynucleotides ↗11Vitamin injectionsIndividual assessment first
What are they?
An injection of a specific vitamin. Vitamin B12 injections are used medically to treat or prevent B12 deficiency in appropriate patients; other vitamins have different uses, evidence and risks.
What can I expect?
Benefit depends on whether there is a genuine clinical need. Tiredness alone does not establish a deficiency. A clinician may recommend tests or oral supplements instead, depending on the cause and your health.
Recovery & considerations
Injection-site pain, swelling or itching can occur; other effects depend on the vitamin and product. Allergic reactions are possible. Discuss symptoms, medicines, allergies and previous test results before deciding. The product, dose and frequency must be determined through appropriate clinical assessment.
